Our client, a healthcare practitioner, sought to develop a distinctive solution catering to travelers with special medical needs. Given the importance of timely medical support, particularly during critical periods such as pandemics, is very important.

The objective was to create an app facilitating seamless communication between travelers and healthcare providers. Additionally, the app needed to feature a Newsfeed delivering travel advisories from various sources like CDC and US Travel while offering an advanced medical system for practitioners.

The challenge

AI-driven Health Assessment in Telemedicine

The client required a telemedicine feature integrated with AI-based health assessment capabilities. This entailed incorporating a chatbot that conducts an AI-based health assessment by asking a series of questions to determine if medical assistance is necessary.

Country-specific Public Health news Retrieval

A significant challenge involved aggregating and updating public health records and news to provide users with real-time information. The app needed to notify users traveling to specific countries about health advisories relevant to their destination.

Immediate Medical attention Requirements

In emergencies, the app needed to retrieve the medical emergency contact number for the user's current location, ensuring immediate access to medical assistance, even in unfamiliar places.

Our effective solutions

Health app with HIPAA compliance

We developed a HIPAA-compliant and encrypted PHI system for the health app, featuring advanced encryption key management for data security. This system seamlessly integrates with any Electronic Health Record (EHR) or Electronic Medical Record (EMR), with an embedded EHR for easy export.

Trip advisory & planning

Users can input their travel itinerary and group details into the app, allowing it to prepare for any medical emergencies specific to that group's location during their travels.

Infermedica Integration

To ensure quick and reliable health assessments, we opted to integrate a third-party symptom tracker, Infermedica, rather than developing a symptom tracker in-house, which could potentially slow down the app's performance.

Chatbot integration

We implemented a chatbot feature for appointment booking assistance in scenarios where no caregiver is available. In cases of extreme symptoms, the chatbot provides users with an emergency contact number and facilitates emergency calls.
